Since 1995 the last twelve plus years I've run my own business in Alexander City, Alabama Interiors by Shannon. I build classy high quality one off custom leather interiors in street rods, hot rods, pro touring, street machines, show cars and trucks. I'm a one man show, no employees. I'm not a production shop all work is performed by myself. My interiors are not budget interiors or kits. I can not make door panels, consoles, trunk panels to ship. I must have the car in my shop to build the interior. I have my own style of interior design which has pleased many picky Hot Rod owners. I work with the best materials available. Some of the materials include, wool carpeting, wool, imported European leather, OEM leather, exotics, Ultra Suede, aluminum bar stock and stainless cloth. I do not work with crushed velvet or leather alternatives such as vinyl as much. Based on the magnitude of the job, it takes me five to six weeks to design and build a custom interior. Some of my high end jobs have taken over two months to complete. Before I'm able to start the design process, the vehicle must be in the shop. Each interior is completed one at a time. All designs are fabricated to fit the personality of each car. Each month I average two cars in the shop. My custom upholstery has won Best Interior Awards at shows like GoodGuys, NSRA and World of Wheels. My business Interiors by Shannon has been featured in magazines and two "how to" books. The magazines were Auto Trim & Restyling News, the March 1999 issue and Southern Rodder, the March 2000 issue. In 2002 Ken Wickham included my shop in of his books "Standard Guide to Build Street Rods" and "Building Street Rods". I've also had my work featured in automotive publications such as Southern Rodder, Super Chevy, Hot VW, Super Rodder, "M&M" Makes and Models Magazine, Chevy Rumble, Popular Hot Rodding Magazines. Recently Jaime's Cadillac "NADINE" showed up on the 2008 GoodGuys T-shirt for the Atlanta, GA 2008 show ( click here to see ) .
